Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 11, 2026
Short version: ValidTrust uses almost no cookies. We don't track you, we don't profile you, and we don't serve ads. The few cookies we use are strictly necessary for the site to function.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit. Not all cookies are bad — some are essential for a website to work properly.
2. How ValidTrust Uses Cookies
ValidTrust is designed as a privacy-first protocol. We use only the bare minimum of cookies required for the site to function:
ValidTrust itself does not set any cookies. Your wallet connection state and authentication flow are handled entirely through browser Local Storage and in-memory React state — not cookies. The only cookie you may encounter is from Cloudflare (see Section 5 below).
3. What We Do NOT Use
Unlike most websites, ValidTrust does not use:
- Analytics cookies — No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no tracking pixels
- Advertising cookies — No ads, no retargeting, no ad networks
- Social media cookies — No Facebook pixel, no Twitter tracking
- Third-party tracking cookies — No cross-site tracking of any kind
- Profiling cookies — No behavioral profiling or user segmentation
We believe that trust verification should not come at the cost of your privacy. The irony of a trust protocol that tracks its users would not be lost on us.
4. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, web applications can use browser Local Storage. ValidTrust uses Local Storage for:
- Wallet adapter state — Your chosen wallet provider (e.g., Phantom) and connection status, so you don't need to re-select it each visit
- Wallet public key — Your connected wallet address, used to restore your session between page navigations
Local Storage data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
5. Cloudflare
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot management and DDoS protection. This is a security measure, not a tracking mechanism. You can read more in Cloudflare's cookie policy.
6. GDPR & Cookie Consent
Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, websites must obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies. Since ValidTrust only uses essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function, we are not required to show a cookie consent banner.
However, we believe in transparency — which is why this policy exists. You always know exactly what data is stored on your device.
7. Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of ValidTrust (e.g., wallet connection may not persist between pages).
Common browser settings:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever need to introduce new cookies (which we don't plan to), we will update this policy and, if required, implement a cookie consent mechanism.
