Terms of Service
Last updated: February 11, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ValidTrust ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
ValidTrust is operated by ValidTrust ("we", "us", "our"). The Service is available at validtrust.io and through associated browser extensions.
2. What is ValidTrust
ValidTrust is an Identity-Stake Verification Protocol built on the Solana blockchain. It allows users to create verification badges backed by biometric authentication and a small $SOL fee. These badges are designed to make it significantly harder for bots and scammers to operate — by requiring effort and cost that automated systems are unlikely to invest.
ValidTrust does not guarantee identity. A badge indicates that someone completed biometric verification and paid a $SOL fee — nothing more. It raises the bar for trust, but it is not a foolproof identification system.
ValidTrust is not a financial service, identity provider, KYC platform, money transmitter, payment processor, or investment product. It is a verification signaling tool. All $SOL transactions happen directly on the Solana blockchain — ValidTrust does not hold, custody, or process any funds at any point.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use ValidTrust. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.
4. Wallet & Authentication
ValidTrust does not use traditional accounts or passwords. Access is through:
- Solana Wallet — You connect your own wallet (e.g., Phantom). You are solely responsible for your wallet security, private keys, and seed phrases.
- WebAuthn/Passkeys — Biometric authentication happens on your device. We do not store your biometric data.
We are not responsible for lost wallets, compromised private keys, or unauthorized transactions. If you lose access to your wallet, we cannot recover your funds or badges.
5. Badge Creation & Usage
When you create a badge, you:
- Complete biometric verification (WebAuthn) and optionally email verification
- Write a custom message for the badge recipient
- Pay a small $SOL fee directly on the Solana blockchain
- Receive a unique verification link to share
Acceptable Use
Badges must be used for legitimate trust verification. You agree NOT to:
- Create badges to impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Use badges to facilitate fraud, scams, or illegal activity
- Create badges with offensive, threatening, or harmful messages
- Abuse the protocol to manipulate token prices or markets
- Attempt to circumvent verification requirements
- Use automation or bots to mass-create badges
6. $SOL & Blockchain Transactions
ValidTrust does not hold, custody, or process any $SOL or other cryptocurrency. All $SOL transactions happen directly on the Solana blockchain between users' wallets and on-chain program accounts (PDAs). ValidTrust merely facilitates the user interface for initiating these on-chain transactions. We are not a payment processor, money transmitter, or financial intermediary.
$SOL is Solana's native cryptocurrency. ValidTrust uses $SOL for:
- Pay for badge creation (a small verification fee sent directly on-chain)
- Provide private badge recipients a claimable $SOL bonus (held in a non-custodial PDA escrow on Solana — not by ValidTrust)
We make no promises, guarantees, or representations about the current or future value of $SOL. Using ValidTrust is not an investment, and you should not expect any financial return.
Badge fees are sent directly to the ValidTrust treasury wallet on-chain upon creation. For private badges, a portion is held in a non-custodial PDA escrow controlled by a Solana program — ValidTrust has no private key access to these funds. $SOL value may fluctuate. You are solely responsible for understanding the risks associated with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
7. Blockchain Transactions
All $SOL transactions occur on the Solana blockchain. Blockchain transactions are:
- Irreversible — Once confirmed, transactions cannot be undone
- Public — Transaction details (wallet addresses, amounts) are publicly visible
- Subject to network fees — Solana network fees apply to all transactions
We are not responsible for failed transactions, network congestion, or blockchain downtime. Solana network performance is outside our control.
8. Fees & Payments
Badge creation requires paying a small fee in $SOL directly on the Solana blockchain. For public badges, the fee goes to the ValidTrust treasury wallet. For private badges, a portion is held in a non-custodial PDA escrow on Solana. ValidTrust does not process, hold, or intermediate any payments — all transactions are peer-to-blockchain.
- Public badges — Fee goes to treasury upon creation
- Private badges — Reward held in non-custodial PDA escrow on Solana; auto-refunded on-chain if unclaimed after 48h
- All badges — Badge creation fees are non-refundable (they are sent directly on-chain and cannot be reversed)
Badge costs are minimal (~$0.01–$0.02 USD in $SOL). All transactions are processed on the Solana blockchain and are publicly verifiable.
9. Intellectual Property
The ValidTrust name, logo, website design, and protocol are proprietary. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding without permission. Badge verification links may be freely shared — that is their purpose.
10. Disclaimers
ValidTrust is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- That the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- That badges provide absolute proof of identity (they indicate that verification steps were completed — they are not legal identification and do not guarantee the person's intentions)
- The value or stability of $SOL
- Compatibility with all wallets, browsers, or devices
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ValidTrust shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or cryptocurrency. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount of $SOL you paid in the relevant transaction.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ValidTrust after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
